The Speech-Language Pathologists of Middle East and North Africa (SLP-MENA) association is a membership association for students and professionals in the field of communication sciences and disorders. It is an SLP organized and run group.
Involvement in SLP-MENA provides opportunities for students and professionals to interact with others in the field of speech-language pathology and Phoniatrics, to do volunteer work, and to explore issues that affect them as students and professionals.
SLP-MENA is the only official regional association that was created in 2021 to meet speech-language pathologists’ desires to have a closer affiliation with fellow professionals in the field of Communication Disorders.
Our Goals!
The Speech-Language Pathologists a of Middle East and North Africa (SLP-MENA) association aims to:
- Be a hub for speech-language pathologist and phoniatricians from around the region to share their thoughts and present their work.
- Provide a resource for SLP students and professionals for information about disorders, new intervention techniques, and a discussion forum for presenting cases.
- Manage courses and workshops offered by specialists on topics related to the profession.
- A source of information for parents/caregivers of children suffering from a communication disorder. This information will be presented in a way that a nonprofessional can understand and utilize. Information will be provided in both Arabic and English languages.
- Fund patients in need for certain intervention protocols.
The mission of the Speech-Language Pathologists of Middle East and North Africa (SLP-MENA) association is to promote awareness, diversity, and collaboration in the profession of speech-language pathology through empowerment and advocacy for members and the community in order to ensure best practices. To benefit its members by continually improving its support, promotion, and advocacy of the highest quality preparation of professionals in speech-language pathology, as well as promoting evidenced-based clinical services for speech, language, and swallowing disorders. It is our calling to innovate impactful community outreach support and empower our members to maximize the communication health for all people of MENA region, and to advocate for people with communication disabilities.
Setting the highest standard of ethical practice and quality care in MENA region and establish a strong base for professionals to share their expertise and collaborate. And ensure all people of MENA achieve optimal communication health.
